Vintage Pattern Lending Library and 1912 Project

I got so excited about this, I just had to share it!  I struck pattern gold!  I am not quite sure how I didn't know about this prior to now, but thanks to my friend Karen I was introduced to something called the Vintage Pattern Lending Library.  These guys can be found at https://vpll.3dcartstores.com/ and they are pretty much what they sound like: a collector and reproducer of vintage patterns.  This includes not only Victorian and Edwardian patterns, but beautiful stuff straight through the 1980s!  They offer memberships for $25 which allows you to get 4 free pattern loans per year, and discounted rates above those 4.  Sounds like a pretty cool idea!  Also, membership helps them to increase their library and preserve very valuable and extraordinarily dainty original materials.

Also, for anyone interested, they have a 1912 project going on to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.  This project is particularly interesting because it really ties in social media and the sewing community.  If you sign up for the project, they will allow you to receive 6 patterns for free!  In return, you have to do some blogging.  For those of you weaned on video games like I was, it has a very video game feel in the fact that for each pattern you complete and blog about (either their blog or your own) you gain points.  Points helps you unlock other things like new patterns, prizes, etc.  So, if you are competitive, social, and interesting in 1912 fashion (and I assure you, there is some gorgeous circa 1912 stuff out there!!!) then you might want to join in on the fun!  Their website is: http://vpll1912project.org/
Happy sewing!!!
